Dean Rantz has been a "Practicing Blacksmith" since 1982. He operates, Rock Village Forge in Middleborough, Mass. Using traditional tools and techniques. He creates and recreates Hand forged-Iron work . Specializing in restoration hardware. Mr. Rantz received his Bachelor of Fine-Arts Degree in Art History and Sculpture from Massachusetts College of Art.
He can be seen demonstrating his craft at historical societies, house museums, colonial reenactments, harvest fairs and festivals throughout Eastern Massachusetts. R.I., The Shirley Eustis House in Roxbury/Boston, Mass., The Job Lane House in Bedford, Mass, The Harlow and Hedge houses-Plymouth Antiquarian Society in Plymouth, Mass., The Golden Ball Tavern in Weston, Mass. and The Thayer House Braintree, Mass. Mr Rantz is also a member of Knox Artillery a Revolutionary-war reenactment group.
